Arcata Main Street and RCAA's Natural Resources Services improve access to our bay.

We are super proud to be supporting projects like these that build appreciation and in turn preservation of our bay.  Thank you RCAA and Humboldt Area Foundation for partnering with us to make this happen!

Redwood Community Action Agency Natural Resources Services division will be using the generous donation from Arcata Main Street to finalize designs for a paddle-boating map and guide of Humboldt Bay and print copies for local distribution, as well as work closely with Humboldt Bay stakeholders to improve non-motorized boating infrastructure in Arcata Bay (the northernmost portion of Humboldt Bay). Access to Arcata Bay is currently extremely limited, and ADA-accessible launching locations are limited all around the bay. This project has provided timely support to move forward with improvements to paddling, which is an active and healthy form of recreation, increases appreciation for the beauty of Humboldt Bay, and supports ecologically-conscious tourism and development in Humboldt County.
